The Beginner’s Guide to Tai Sui, Sui Po, & Bai Tai Sui for 2027 Year of the Fire Goat

2027 Tai Sui, Sui Po, and Bai Tai Sui guide for the Year of the Fire Goat, showing annual Feng Shui protection and remedy themes.

What Is Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) in Feng Shui, And Why Does It Matter?

Tai Sui, often translated as Grand Duke Jupiter, refers to the annual ruling energy in traditional Chinese cosmology and Feng Shui. It is connected to the celestial movement of Jupiter and represents the governing influence of a particular year within the 60-year sexagenary cycle.

In Daoist and folk tradition, Tai Sui is personified as a Tai Sui God, Tai Sui General, or Tai Sui deity. There are 60 Tai Sui Generals, with each one governing a specific year in the 60-year cycle. Many of these generals are associated with historical or semi-historical figures whose character, life story, and symbolic qualities reflect the deeper lesson of that year.

Tai Sui is considered a powerful annual influence that affects three key domains:

Heaven — Time:
Annual, monthly, daily, and hourly energies.

Earth — Space:
The physical environment, especially the Tai Sui direction, Sui Po direction, and other annual Feng Shui afflictions.

Mankind — People:
Individuals whose zodiac signs clash, conflict, punish, harm, or break with the year’s Tai Sui.

Understanding Tai Sui is essential for anyone who wishes to work with supportive annual energies while reducing unnecessary challenges in personal life, career, health, relationships, and the home environment. By knowing where Tai Sui resides each year and who may be affected by it, one can take proper precautions, avoid disturbing sensitive sectors, and apply appropriate Feng Shui remedies when needed.

Is Offending Tai Sui Bad Luck?

Contrary to popular belief, offending Tai Sui does not always mean unavoidable bad luck. More accurately, it means that a particular area of life becomes more sensitive, active, or emphasized during the year. This influence may bring pressure, changes, obstacles, emotional unrest, health concerns, relationship tension, career instability, or unexpected disruptions. However, it may also become a turning point for growth, correction, and transformation when handled with awareness and preparation.

The actual outcome depends on several factors, including your personal fortune cycle, birth chart, current life circumstances, the Feng Shui condition of your home or workplace, and how proactively you respond to the year’s challenges.

For this reason, those whose zodiac signs clash, conflict, punish, harm, or break with the year’s Tai Sui are traditionally advised to take proper precautions. If your zodiac sign appears in the Tai Sui conflict table, carrying a customized Tai Sui Talisman is strongly recommended as an annual protection method.

This Tai Sui Talisman is individually consecrated and customized for the person who carries it. The consecration ritual follows the thorough classical method of the Daoist Quan Zhen lineage, rooted in over a thousand years of spiritual tradition. Rather than being a generic charm or symbolic bracelet, it is prepared according to the individual’s personal information, current situation, and specific concerns.

For 2027, the customized Tai Sui Talisman serves as an important annual protection tool to help reduce unnecessary obstacles, stabilize personal energy, support smoother fortune, and strengthen one’s protection throughout the Year of the Goat.

What Is The Direction/Position of 2027 Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter)?

In 2027, the Year of the Fire Goat, Tai Sui resides in the South sector, 195°–225°, associated with the House of the Goat. The ruling Tai Sui General for this year is General Miao Bing, remembered for his scholarly nature, filial devotion, generosity, and refined moral character.

Also known as Miao Jian, General Miao Bing was born during the Song Dynasty in Bian, present-day Kaifeng in Henan Province. He loved learning, practiced filial piety and brotherly respect, gave generously to others, and remained detached from fame and official rank. During the Jingkang crisis, he moved south to Jiangyin, where he chose a quiet life of farming, study, and self-cultivation. Later generations admired him for his pure temperament, upright conduct, moral restraint, and graceful withdrawal from worldly turmoil.

What Is Sui Po, or Year Breaker, and Where Is It Located in 2027?

Sui Po, also known as the Year Breaker, is the direction directly opposite Tai Sui. It is one of the most important annual afflictions in Feng Shui and should be treated with the same level of caution as the Tai Sui sector.

In 2027, Tai Sui resides in the House of the Goat, so Sui Po falls in the House of the Ox, covering 15°–45°. This area includes the first 22.5° of the Northeast sector and the last 7.5° of the North sector.

Because Sui Po represents the year-breaking force, this direction should be kept calm and undisturbed throughout the year. Avoid renovations, digging, drilling, demolition, major construction, or heavy disruptive activity in this sector.

When Does Tai Sui Begin to Influence?

Tai Sui’s influence begins at Li Chun, or the Start of Spring, which falls on February 4, 2027, and lasts until the next Li Chun on February 4, 2028.

This is important because Tai Sui does not begin on the Lunar New Year. In 2027, the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year falls on February 6, 2027, but Tai Sui begins to take effect from February 4, 2027, two days earlier.

Therefore, annual Feng Shui adjustments, Tai Sui remedies, and precautions for the Tai Sui and Sui Po sectors should be considered from Li Chun rather than from the first day of the Lunar New Year.

What Is the Best Feng Shui Cure for the 2027 Tai Sui?

The Best Feng Shui Cure for Tai Sui in 2027

The common practice for Tai Sui protection often involves placing a Tai Sui plaque, displaying symbolic cures, or wearing charms such as Pi Yao bracelets. While these methods are widely used, they are usually general in nature and may not address the specific energetic condition of the home or the individual.

In 2027, the Year of the Goat, Tai Sui resides in the Southwest sector, specifically within the House of the Goat, covering 195°–225°. This area largely overlaps with the annual Flying Star #6, an auspicious star associated with authority, career advancement, leadership, helpful people, and professional opportunities.

Because Tai Sui is present in this sector, the South-Southwest area should still be treated with respect and kept as calm as possible. Avoid activities that create heavy vibration or disturbance, such as banging, heavy drilling, demolition, major renovation, digging, or loud construction work in this direction.

A practical Feng Shui arrangement for this area is to display a salt lamp and keep it plugged in consistently. The Fire and Earth elements of the salt lamp are supportive for the Southwest portion of this sector, helping to maintain a warm, stable, and harmonizing presence while keeping the annual affliction calm and undisturbed.

For stronger protection, you may hide a Five Thunder Protection Talisman underneath the salt lamp. This supports the protective function of the arrangement and helps guard the household against disruptive or harmful energies associated with the annual Tai Sui influence.

If your goal is to activate the auspicious potential of Flying Star #6, especially for career support, recognition, authority, and helpful people, you may instead place a Supportive People Talisman underneath the salt lamp within the Southwest portion of the Tai Sui sector, specifically 202.5°–225°.

This arrangement can be used in two different ways: to strengthen family protection through the Five Thunder Protection Talisman, or to enhance the positive career and noble-support energy of the auspicious Flying Star #6 through the Supportive People Talisman. In both cases, the purpose is to respect and harmonize the Tai Sui sector while carefully working with the beneficial potential present in the same area.

In 2027, the annual auspicious Flying Star #6, also known as the Six White Star, overlaps with the Tai Sui sector. This makes the South-Southwest area especially sensitive. On one hand, Flying Star #6 can support authority, career advancement, recognition, helpful people, and professional opportunity. On the other hand, because Tai Sui also resides in this area, activation must be handled with extra care.

If your kitchen, bedroom, office desk, main entrance, or frequently used area happens to fall within the 2027 Tai Sui sector, it is important to keep this area calm, clean, stable, and undisturbed. Avoid heavy vibration, banging, drilling, digging, demolition, major renovation, or disruptive construction in this direction.

In addition to the Feng Shui cure mentioned above, if you are concerned that the Tai Sui, Sui Po, Three Killings, Five Yellow, or other annual afflicted sectors may be disturbed by heavy daily activity or unavoidable repair work during the year, a stronger protection method may be needed.

For reconstruction, renovation, drilling, digging, or heavy vibration in an annual afflicted area, the special cure is to place the Feng Shui Renovation Protection Talisman in or near the affected area. At the same time, the person most directly involved or affected may carry the Five Thunder Protection Talisman to help minimize personal impact and strengthen individual protection.

This method is especially recommended when the renovation or repair work involves annual afflicted sectors such as Tai Sui, Sui Po, Three Killings, or Five Yellow areas.

In addition to the annual Tai Sui direction, there are also Tai Sui and Sui Po influences at the monthly, daily, and hourly levels.

For 2027:

Month of Tai Sui: July 7, 2027 – August 7, 2027
Month of Sui Po: January 6, 2028 – February 3, 2028
Hour of Tai Sui: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Hour of Sui Po: 1 a.m. – 3 a.m.

To identify Tai Sui and Sui Po days, use the Chinese almanac. In 2027, Goat days are considered Tai Sui days, while Ox days are considered Sui Po days. These days are generally not considered ideal for beginning major projects, renovations, important business launches, or other significant undertakings.

For example, February 9, 2027, is a Goat day, making it a Tai Sui day. The following days continue through the zodiac cycle: February 10 is Monkey, February 11 is Rooster, February 12 is Dog, February 13 is Pig, February 14 is Rat, and February 15 is Ox, making February 15 a Sui Po day.

After another six days, February 21 returns to a Goat day, making it another Tai Sui day. Six days later, February 27 is again an Ox day, making it another Sui Po day. This pattern continues throughout the year.

These days do not automatically mean disaster, but they are traditionally treated with caution. When possible, avoid using Tai Sui or Sui Po days to begin major construction, sign important agreements, launch major projects, move into a new home, or start activities that require long-term stability.

2027 Tai Sui and Sui Po Days to Avoid for Major Activities

For practical reference, the table below lists the Tai Sui and Sui Po days during the 2027 Tai Sui year. Goat days are Tai Sui days, while Ox days are Sui Po days. These dates do not automatically indicate misfortune, but they are traditionally treated with caution and are best avoided for major renovations, construction, moving, business launches, contract signing, or other important activities that require long-term stability.

The same principle also applies to zodiac hours. In 2027, the Goat hour, 1 p.m.–3 p.m., corresponds to the Tai Sui hour, while the Ox hour, 1 a.m.–3 a.m., corresponds to the Sui Po hour. For ordinary daily activity, this is usually not a major concern. However, for important rituals, major decisions, construction work, or highly sensitive Feng Shui applications, these timing factors may be considered.

A Deeper Way to Harmonize Tai Sui

Another practice I strongly recommend for minimizing negative Tai Sui influence and even gaining positive support from the year’s energy is to actively help others.

This may include supporting people in need, donating to meaningful causes, offering sincere assistance, protecting others from harm, or performing good deeds without expecting reward or compensation. In traditional practice, this type of voluntary action helps build one’s Yang energy and moral merit, which can support a smoother and more stable fortune throughout the year.

In traditional cultural practice, one may also pray to Tai Sui for protection and safety by performing a ritual at a temple with a Tai Sui shrine, or by carrying a custom consecrated Tai Sui talisman during the year. For those who have limited knowledge of Feng Shui practice, this can be an accessible alternative in many regions. We will discuss this topic in more detail below.

What Is the Best Cure for Sui Po (Year Breaker) in 2027?

Sui Po, also known as the Year Breaker, is primarily handled through spatial awareness and careful avoidance of disturbance. In 2027, Sui Po occupies the Ox sector, covering 15°–45°. This area overlaps with the Northeast sector, where the annual Flying Star #3, also known as the quarrelsome star, resides in 2027.

Because Flying Star #3 is associated with conflict, arguments, disputes, legal issues, and emotional tension, the Sui Po area should be kept calm, clean, and undisturbed. Avoid heavy vibration, banging, drilling, digging, demolition, renovation, or disruptive construction in this direction.

Please also note that the Sui Po area slightly overlaps with the last 7.5° of the North sector, where the annual Five Yellow resides in 2027. This makes the boundary between the North and Northeast sectors especially sensitive and reinforces the need to keep this area calm, quiet, and undisturbed. For this reason, the entire Sui Po region should be treated with extra caution and kept as quiet and stable as possible.

If your kitchen, bedroom, office desk, main entrance, or frequently used area happens to be located in this region, keeping the area calm is the first priority. In addition, one may display the Five Thunder Protection Talisman or the House Protection Talisman in this area for stronger energetic protection.

The Five Thunder Protection Talisman helps protect against negative spiritual influence, harmful energy interference, and unseen disruptive forces. The House Protection Talisman is one of the strongest permanent, location-based protection talismans, designed to guard a home or specific area against harmful spiritual influences, negative qi, and disruptive energies activated by misarranged forms, heavy movement, or annual afflictions.

A simple Feng Shui adjustment is to place a red round placemat in the Northeast area of the house. This helps reduce the negative effect of Sui Po and harmonize the quarrelsome energy of Flying Star #3. However, if this area is heavily used or disturbed by unavoidable activity, a stronger talisman-based cure is recommended.

Who Should Perform Bai Tai Sui, or Worship Tai Sui?

Although Bai Tai Sui is most commonly recommended for people who are directly offending Tai Sui, anyone may participate in the ritual. Even if your zodiac sign does not clash with the year’s Tai Sui, you may still pray for protection, peace, smoother fortune, health, family harmony, and a more stable year.

In traditional practice, there are several related forms of Tai Sui rituals:

Bai Tai Sui:
A general worship or prayer ritual offered to the Tai Sui deity of the year. This is suitable for anyone who wishes to show respect to Tai Sui and pray for protection, safety, and smoother fortune.

Hua Tai Sui:
A simplified or general Tai Sui appeasement practice. In many cases, this may be performed without detailed personalization and is often used as a broader remedy for reducing the negative impact of offending Tai Sui.

She Tai Sui (also known as Sip Tai Sui in Cantonese) temple practice:
A more specific ritual commonly recommended for those who directly offend Tai Sui, such as people whose zodiac signs clash, conflict, punish, harm, or break with the year’s Tai Sui. This practice usually involves formally presenting one’s name and birth details in prayer, asking Tai Sui for protection, forgiveness, guidance, and reduced obstacles throughout the year.

Guides for these rituals can be found in the following articles:

Can I Place a Tai Sui Altar or Tai Sui Tablet at Home?

For a non-consecrated Tai Sui tablet used only as a symbolic display, the effect is usually limited. Merely displaying a non-consecrated tablet generally does not create meaningful spiritual protection, and it is not usually treated as a serious ritual arrangement.

A consecrated Tai Sui tablet or Tai Sui shrine is very different. If Tai Sui is formally invited to be seated in a home or business, incense is offered, and daily prayer is performed, this becomes a much more serious spiritual and Feng Shui arrangement.

In my view, inviting Tai Sui to be seated in a home or business should not be treated as a casual display. It requires proper ritual training, correct setup, and appropriate Feng Shui consideration. Without correct guidance, the arrangement may create energetic resonance with the people in the space in ways that are not ideal.

For most people, I do not recommend setting up a Tai Sui altar or consecrated Tai Sui tablet at home without proper professional guidance. Carrying a custom consecrated Tai Sui Talisman is usually a safer, cleaner, and more suitable starting point for annual protection.

Unless you are professionally trained in both Daoist ritual practice and Feng Shui placement, I would not suggest casually displaying or worshipping a consecrated Tai Sui tablet at home.

Tai Sui General of 2027

General Miao Bing:

General Miao Bing, the Tai Sui of 2027, is also known as Miao Jian, with the courtesy name Junbao. He was born during the Song Dynasty in Bian, present-day Kaifeng in Henan. Remembered for his love of learning, filial devotion, brotherly respect, generosity, and upright character, he was admired as a refined man of deep moral cultivation. Although his learning and virtue were considered worthy of public office, he did not pursue fame, rank, or worldly recognition.

During the Jingkang crisis, Miao Bing moved south to Jiangyin, where he lived a quiet life of farming, study, and self-cultivation. Like the image of a scholar retreating from worldly disorder, he chose simplicity over ambition and inner steadiness over public display. He later left behind the literary work Xiaopin Ji, though portions of his writings were later lost during the turmoil of war. In folk and Daoist tradition, he is honored as Ding Wei Tai Sui, General Miao Bing, one of the Sixty Jiazi Tai Sui deities.

Lesson from Tai Sui General Miao Bing:

In 2027, emulate his moral clarity, restraint, and inner steadiness. In a world filled with chaos, noise, instability, and fiery temptations, true wisdom lies in protecting your bottom line, staying loyal to your moral standards, and knowing when to stand firm and when to step back. General Miao Bing teaches us that not every opportunity is worth chasing, not every conflict deserves our energy, and not every form of recognition is worth compromising our peace.

The lesson of 2027 is to remain clear in principle, humble in conduct, and discerning in action. Hold your moral ground when it matters, but also know when retreat is not weakness, but wisdom. True strength is not always shown through confrontation or ambition; sometimes it is shown through purity of intention, self-restraint, and the courage to walk away from disorder.
