The heavenly stem Ding belongs to Yin Fire, while the earthly branch Wei represents the Goat. The Na Yin element for Ding Wei is Tian He Shui, commonly translated as Heavenly River Water.
Because of this, 2027 can be described as a Fire Goat year based on the heavenly stem and earthly branch, while its Na Yin element is Water.
Chinese Lunar New Year begins on February 6, 2027. However, in Feng Shui, BaZi, and annual energy arrangements, the yearly energy is usually counted from Li Chun, the Start of Spring, which falls on February 4, 2027. Therefore, the Feng Shui energy of the 2027 Fire Goat year begins on February 4, before the Lunar New Year.
In 2027, Tai Sui resides in the Goat sector, also called the House of the Goat, located primarily in the southwest direction. For general Feng Shui use, this is commonly understood as the broader Goat direction of 195°–225°, which includes the Wei mountain and an additional 7.5° from each adjacent mountain.
The opposite direction is the Ox sector, also called the House of the Ox, located primarily in the northeast direction. This is where Sui Po, or the Year Breaker, is located in 2027. For general Feng Shui use, this falls broadly within 15°–45°, which includes the Chou mountain and an additional 7.5° from each adjacent mountain.
The Tai Sui influence for the 2027 Fire Goat year should therefore be observed from Li Chun, February 4, 2027, rather than waiting until Lunar New Year on February 6. Annual Feng Shui arrangements, Tai Sui precautions, and major directional adjustments for 2027 should ideally be considered before or around this date.
What is Tai Sui?
Tai Sui is short for Tai Sui God, also known as the Tai Sui General. In Feng Shui, Tai Sui refers to the personified annual energy associated with Jupiter’s yearly influence and its corresponding earthly direction.
In Chinese folklore, there are sixty Tai Sui Generals, each connected with one year in the 60-year sexagenary cycle. Each year, one Tai Sui General is said to govern the affairs of the mortal world and influence the energetic pattern of that year.
The Tai Sui General for 2027, the Year of the Goat, is General Miao Bing.
The three main effects of Tai Sui
Tai Sui is an annual body of energy that changes from year to year. In general, when we speak about Tai Sui, we are referring to the annual energy that occupies a specific zodiac house, both celestially and in its earthly directional projection.
However, Tai Sui does not affect only one area of life. Depending on the topic, its influence may be understood through people, space, or time. This is why Tai Sui is often misunderstood in practice. The same term may refer to zodiac clashes, Feng Shui directional concerns, or timing precautions, depending on the context.
In this article, I will explain the most important Tai Sui information for 2027 through three main aspects:
Tai Sui’s effect on time:
This includes which days or hours require more caution, what timing concerns are actually meaningful, and what you do not need to worry about unnecessarily.
Tai Sui’s effect on people:
This includes the zodiac signs that offend Tai Sui, commonly known as Fan Tai Sui, and how this may influence personal luck, obstacles, health, relationships, career, and major life decisions during the year.
Tai Sui’s effect on space:

We will go into each of these aspects in detail below. I will also share some of my own secret Tai Sui methods and practical remedies that I personally use in traditional Feng Shui practice.
Tai Sui’s effect on people, zodiacs offending Tai Sui (Fan Tai Sui)
What is Fan Tai Sui (offending Tai Sui)?
Tai Sui governs the annual zodiac house, and each year it interacts differently with the other zodiac signs. When a zodiac sign has an incompatible, conflicting, or unfavorable relationship with the Tai Sui house of that year, it is considered to be offending Tai Sui. This is commonly known as Fan Tai Sui, which means offending Tai Sui.
There are several major types of Fan Tai Sui, including being in the same zodiac house as Tai Sui, clashing with Tai Sui, being afflicted by Tai Sui, being harmed by Tai Sui, and being broken by Tai Sui. Because of these different forms of interaction, there are usually four to five zodiac signs that offend Tai Sui each year.
When a person’s zodiac sign falls into one of these categories, the year may bring more pressure, instability, obstacles, emotional disturbance, health concerns, conflict, or unexpected changes. This does not mean disaster will happen, but it does mean the person should move through the year with more awareness, caution, and proper spiritual or Feng Shui support.
Which Chinese Zodiacs will offend Tai Sui in 2027?
As mentioned above, there are several types of offending Tai Sui. In 2027, the Year of the Goat, certain zodiac signs interact more directly with the annual Tai Sui energy. Some sit in the same zodiac house as Tai Sui, some clash with it, some are afflicted by it, and others are harmed or broken by it.

This is somewhat similar to a conjunction aspect in Western astrology. People who are against Tai Sui may experience stronger emotional fluctuations, health concerns, instability, family matters, or important life changes during the year. In 2027, the Goat is against Tai Sui.
Clashing with Tai Sui means a zodiac sign directly opposes the zodiac of the year. This is one of the stronger forms of offending Tai Sui because it can create confrontation, pressure, movement, and disruption. It is somewhat similar to an opposition aspect in Western astrology. People who clash with Tai Sui may experience obstacles, conflict, accidents, relationship tension, financial pressure, or sudden changes in direction. In 2027, the Ox clashes with Tai Sui.
Being afflicted by Tai Sui often brings pressure, consequences, punishment, or unusual complications. In 2027, the Ox and Dog are afflicted by Tai Sui due to the traditional Ox–Goat–Dog punishment relationship. This type of Fan Tai Sui may reveal problems caused by past decisions, personal habits, attitude, conflict, misuse of power, or unresolved issues. People afflicted by Tai Sui may feel that certain situations become harder to control, especially when their own choices or reactions contribute to the difficulty.
Being harmed by Tai Sui means the supportive relationship of a zodiac sign is disrupted. This can bring hidden opposition, backstabbers, difficult people, broken trust, negative changes, job instability, health concerns, or relationship entanglements. The effect is often less direct than a clash, but it can still create frustration because the problem may come through people, circumstances, or support systems that no longer work smoothly. In 2027, the Rat is harmed by Tai Sui.
Being broken by Tai Sui is usually considered milder than clashing with Tai Sui, but its effect can be more hidden. Problems may happen behind the scenes or remain unnoticed until later. This can include betrayal, quiet obstruction, legal or financial complications, food-related issues, or damage caused by matters that were not obvious at first. In 2027, the Dog is broken by Tai Sui and, as mentioned earlier, is also afflicted by Tai Sui.
It is important to understand that offending Tai Sui does not automatically mean disaster. It means the person’s zodiac sign has a more sensitive relationship with the annual energy of the year. With awareness, cautious decisions, proper timing, and suitable Feng Shui or spiritual remedies, the year can still be managed with greater stability.
Are zodiacs offending Tai Sui bad luck?
Contrary to what many people think, offending Tai Sui does not automatically mean bad luck. It simply means that a person’s zodiac sign has a more sensitive or direct relationship with the annual Tai Sui energy of that year.
When a zodiac sign offends Tai Sui, certain areas of life may become magnified. This can bring pressure, instability, emotional fluctuation, health concerns, relationship tension, career obstacles, financial stress, or unexpected changes.
However, the final outcome is not determined by the zodiac sign alone. A person’s full natal chart, life stage, decisions, environment, Feng Shui, and spiritual protection all play an important role.
In other words, Fan Tai Sui does not mean disaster. It means the year requires more awareness, caution, and proper support.
When a Tai Sui Talisman May Be Helpful
For people who are already experiencing repeated obstacles, unstable health, emotional heaviness, career pressure, relationship conflict, financial stress, family matters, or a general sense of low fortune, I would take Fan Tai Sui more seriously. This is especially true if your zodiac sign is one of the signs offending Tai Sui in 2027: Goat, Ox, Dog, or Rat.
In these situations, a customized consecrated 2027 Tai Sui talisman may be helpful as an added layer of annual protection and spiritual support. This is not something I would recommend merely because someone belongs to an affected zodiac sign. I would especially consider it when the person is already entering the year with instability, pressure, repeated setbacks, or important life concerns that need stronger support.
A proper Tai Sui talisman should not be treated as a generic lucky charm. In traditional Daoist practice, it should be prepared with sincere ritual intention, proper timing, formal consecration, and a clear understanding of the person’s situation. For this reason, the talisman I prepare is individually customized after reviewing the person’s birth details, current life situation, main concern, and intention for the year.
The purpose is to help reduce the harmful influence of Tai Sui, calm annual instability, strengthen spiritual protection, and support a smoother path through the year. It does not replace wise decisions, medical care, practical action, or personal responsibility, but it can serve as a meaningful form of spiritual support when the year’s energy feels heavier or more unpredictable.

n addition to the zodiacs that offend Tai Sui, some zodiacs are considered compatible with the annual Tai Sui energy. When a zodiac sign has a harmonious relationship with the zodiac of the year, certain areas of life may receive more support, smoother opportunities, or helpful momentum.
For 2027, the Year of the Goat, the lucky zodiacs are Rabbit, Pig, and Horse.
Rabbit and Pig are traditionally harmonious with the Goat, while Horse has a special supportive relationship with the Goat. These zodiac signs may experience more helpful people, smoother opportunities, better relationship flow, or stronger support in certain areas of life during 2027.
However, being one of the lucky zodiacs does not mean every part of the year will automatically be easy. A person’s full natal chart, Feng Shui, life stage, decisions, and environment still matter. It simply means these zodiac signs have a more favorable relationship with the annual energy of 2027 and may find it easier to receive support or move forward when the right opportunities appear.
Space, the direction or region that Tai Sui stays in that particular year
The direction of Tai Sui in 2027, the Year of the Goat
Tai Sui’s direction in 2027, the Year of the Goat, is located in the southwest region, in the Goat sector, also called the House of the Goat. For general Feng Shui use, this is commonly understood as the broader Goat direction of 195°–225°.
For beginners, the 24 Mountains compass system divides the full 360° compass into 24 smaller directions, with each mountain occupying 15°. In the 24 Mountains compass system, the Goat mountain, also known as SW1 or the Wei mountain, is one of the 24 compass divisions, so it is narrower than the broader House of the Goat. In general Tai Sui discussion, the Goat sector is often treated as a 30° zodiac house, including the central Goat mountain and an additional 7.5° from each adjacent mountain.
The opposite direction is the Ox sector, also called the House of the Ox, located in the northeast region. This is where Sui Po, or the Year Breaker, is located in 2027. For general Feng Shui use, this falls broadly within 15°–45°.
Both the Tai Sui and Sui Po directions should be treated with caution. In these areas, it is best to avoid renovation, construction, digging, drilling, demolition, loud impact, or activities that create heavy vibration.
Feng Shui Dos, Don’ts, and Remedies for Tai Sui and Sui Po in the Year of the Goat, 2027
In 2027, Tai Sui is located in the southwest, while Sui Po, also known as the Year Breaker, is located in the northeast. Both areas should be treated with caution, especially if important parts of your home or workplace fall within these sectors.
Dos for the Tai Sui and Sui Po Directions:
Keep both areas calm, clean, and stable throughout the year.
Display a round red placemat in the northeast, preferably within 22.5°–45°, to help stabilize the Sui Po direction.t
Display a salt lamp in the southwest, preferably within 202.5°–225°, and keep it plugged in consistently to support the Tai Sui direction.
Display the Home Protection Talisman or the Five Thunder Protection Talisman if your main entrance, kitchen, bedroom, office, or frequently used area is located in either the Tai Sui or Sui Po sector.
Don’ts for the Tai Sui and Sui Po Directions
Avoid keeping these areas overly active for long periods of time. The Tai Sui and Sui Po sectors should remain as calm and undisturbed as possible throughout the year.
Avoid renovation, construction, or reconstruction work in the relevant Tai Sui and Sui Po directions, especially if the work involves disturbing the walls, floors, ground, or structure of the building.
Avoid remodeling activities such as breaking ground, changing floor tiles, removing walls, drilling, heavy hammering, demolition, or any work that creates strong noise, impact, or vibration.
My Secret Remedy Checklist for the Tai Sui and Sui Po Areas in 2027
In addition to keeping the Tai Sui and Sui Po areas calm, I also recommend a simple energetic decluttering method for these two directions. This is one of my personal Tai Sui remedies to help reduce unnecessary activation of negative annual energy.
For the Tai Sui area in the southwest:
Remove water-related items, such as seashells, ocean or river pictures, perfume, or other objects strongly associated with water.
Remove empty boxes, especially empty paper boxes or unused storage containers.
Avoid displaying animals such as tigers, dogs, or rabbits in this area, whether they appear as statues, images, paintings, or decorative objects.
For the Sui Po area in the northeast:
Remove heavy metal items, mirrors, flowers, incense, candles, and empty boxes.
Avoid displaying dogs, monkeys, or snakes in this area, whether they appear as statues, images, paintings, or decorative objects.
These practices can help lower the potential damage if the negative annual affliction energy in these areas is accidentally activated. They can also create a calmer and more supportive energetic environment for you and your family throughout the year.
However, the most important rule remains the same: avoid renovation, remodeling, construction, drilling, demolition, or any heavy vibration in both the Tai Sui and Sui Po areas. In 2027, this is especially important because Sui Po partially overlaps with the Five Yellow area. Activities such as breaking ground, drilling, hammering, or opening walls may activate the negative energy of these annual affliction sectors and should be avoided whenever possible.
What If You Must Renovate or Repair the Tai Sui Area?
But what if you must do reconstruction in the Tai Sui or Sui Po direction? For example, what if there is a water leak, structural issue, or urgent repair needed in that corner of your house?
In situations like this, safety and necessary repair should come first. You should not ignore a serious leak or structural problem simply because it falls in the Tai Sui or Sui Po area. However, from a Feng Shui perspective, this kind of disturbance should still be handled carefully.
Many people are told that once Tai Sui is disturbed, nothing can be done and negative consequences will follow. In my experience, this is not completely true. There are advanced methods that can help minimize the negative effect when urgent repair or accidental activation happens in an annual affliction area.
This is one of my secret Tai Sui methods that I have used for clients when Tai Sui, Sui Po, or other annual affliction sectors were accidentally activated. Although this belongs to a more advanced category of practice, the basic method itself is not complicated.
If repair or reconstruction in the Tai Sui or Sui Po area cannot be avoided, you may follow the steps below:
First, if possible, begin the repair work during the last 20 minutes of an hour. This is considered the weaker end of the hour in terms of energetic movement. During the repair, try to keep yourself and your family members away from the activated area as much as possible, especially if they do not need to be physically present.
Second, prepare a simple rice-and-salt water cleansing. Place seven grains of raw rice and seven small pinches of salt into fresh water. Lightly sprinkle the saltwater toward the four corners of the house and around the family members who were present or involved during the activation.
Before sprinkling the water into a corner, speak respectfully toward that direction first. This is important because the method is traditionally understood to carry a strong cleansing effect and may disturb unseen spiritual presence. The wording does not need to be complicated. The key is respect, sincerity, and clear intention.
Third, after the cleansing is completed, leave the site for 24 hours if possible. If the repair was major, or if the Tai Sui or Sui Po area was strongly disturbed, spending the night away from the home, such as in a hotel, is preferred. Return the next day after the energy has settled.
Another secret method passed down through Daoist practice is to use consecrated protection talismans during unavoidable renovation or repair.
The Five Thunder Protection Talisman is a well-known Daoist protection talisman used for spiritual protection, cleansing, and the suppression of harmful energy. In this situation, it may be carried by the person, placed in the living room, or displayed near the reconstruction area to help reduce the negative influence caused by heavy activity in annual affliction sectors such as Tai Sui, Sui Po, or Three Killings.
The Feng Shui Renovation Protection Talisman is specifically prepared to reduce harmful Sha Qi caused by renovation, construction, or sudden disturbance to the energy of a location. In traditional Daoist practice, it functions like a protective shield for the space when the normal stability of the area has been disturbed.
The best practice is to place the Feng Shui Renovation Protection Talisman in the living room or facing the reconstruction area, while carrying the Five Thunder Protection Talisman personally during the repair period.
When these methods are used together, they can provide meaningful support for urgent or unavoidable reconstruction in dangerous annual affliction sectors. The more carefully the steps are followed, the more they may help reduce the negative impact and protect the household from unnecessary disturbance in the days and months that follow.

Time: Hours, Days, and Months That Conflict with Tai Sui
In Feng Shui practice, three factors are often considered when evaluating an important matter: Heaven, Earth, and Mankind.
Earth refers to the space itself, including the Feng Shui arrangement of a home, office, or location. Mankind refers to the person involved, including the zodiac relationship and personal circumstances discussed earlier in this article. Heaven refers to timing, meaning the hour, day, month, or year chosen to begin or activate an important event.
Timing matters because certain times can support the development of a matter, while others may create instability, resistance, or unnecessary obstacles. This is why date and time selection is an important part of advanced Feng Shui practice.
For example, in 2027, the Year of the Goat, people are generally advised to avoid the time of the Goat and Ox for major undertakings. Goat time is associated with Tai Sui, while Ox time is associated with Sui Po, the Year Breaker. These times may bring more instability when used to begin important events.
Chinese Zodiac Months
Month-wise, the Goat month is generally between July 7 and August 7, while the Ox month is generally between January 6 and February 3, 2028.
The table below shows the general range of each Chinese zodiac month. The actual starting and ending dates may shift slightly from year to year, usually by one day before or after the estimated dates.
Chinese Zodiac Days
To identify Tai Sui and Sui Po days, use the Chinese almanac. In 2027, Goat days are considered Tai Sui days, while Ox days are considered Sui Po days. These days are generally not considered ideal for beginning major projects, renovations, important business launches, moving into a new home, signing major agreements, or other activities that require long-term stability.
For example, February 9, 2027, is a Goat day, making it a Tai Sui day. The following days continue through the zodiac cycle: February 10 is Monkey, February 11 is Rooster, February 12 is Dog, February 13 is Pig, February 14 is Rat, and February 15 is Ox, making February 15 a Sui Po day.
After another six days, February 21 returns to a Goat day, making it another Tai Sui day. Six days later, February 27 is again an Ox day, making it another Sui Po day. This pattern continues throughout the year.
These days do not automatically mean misfortune, but they are traditionally treated with caution. When possible, avoid using Tai Sui or Sui Po days to begin major construction, sign important agreements, launch major projects, move into a new home, or start activities that require long-term stability.
For practical reference, the table below lists the Tai Sui and Sui Po days during the 2027 Tai Sui year. Goat days are Tai Sui days, while Ox days are Sui Po days.
Chinese Zodiac Hours
Chinese zodiac hours are different from the regular hourly system used in modern daily life. In the zodiac hour system, each time period lasts two hours. The day begins at 11 p.m. the previous night and ends at 11 p.m. the following night.
The Rat hour is from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Ox hour is from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m., and the cycle continues through the twelve zodiac signs.
In 2027, people are often advised to avoid using the Goat hour, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and the Ox hour, from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m., to initiate major events. Goat hour corresponds to Tai Sui, while Ox hour corresponds to Sui Po.
For ordinary daily activities, this is usually not a major concern. However, for important rituals, major decisions, construction work, grand openings, weddings, moving, contract signing, or highly sensitive Feng Shui applications, these timing factors may be considered.

A Note on Date and Time Selection
Date and time selection is a complex subject. When practiced correctly, it can bring strong support to an important matter, but the calculation is far more detailed than simply checking whether a day is marked auspicious or inauspicious in a general almanac.
Many people rely on traditional almanacs for convenience. However, the timing information in a general almanac is often broad and generic. It may be useful as a basic reference, but it does not replace personalized date selection based on the person, the matter, the location, and the deeper Feng Shui context.
For most people, the most practical approach is simple: avoid Tai Sui and Sui Po months, days, and hours for major undertakings whenever possible. For ordinary daily activities, there is usually no need to worry too much.
