The Beginner’s Guide to Tai Sui, Sui Po, & Bai Tai Sui for 2026 Year of the Horse

What Is Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) in Feng Shui, and Why Does It Matter?

Tai Sui, short for the Tai Sui God or Tai Sui General, refers to the personified annual energy in Feng Shui that mirrors the celestial path of Jupiter. In traditional Chinese cosmology, there are 60 Tai Sui generals, each named after a historical figure. Each governs one year in the 60-year sexagenary cycle.

Tai Sui is considered a powerful influence, affecting three key domains:

  • Heaven (Time): Annual, monthly, daily, and hourly energies.
  • Earth (Space): The physical environment, especially the Tai Sui and Sui Po directions.
  • Mankind (People): Particularly those whose zodiac signs clash or conflict with the year’s Tai Sui.

Understanding Tai Sui is essential for anyone looking to harness supportive energies or mitigate challenges in their personal and professional life.

Is Offending Tai Sui Bad Luck?

Contrary to popular belief, offending Tai Sui doesn’t necessarily mean bad luck. Instead, it signifies that a particular aspect of life will be emphasized positively or negatively. Often, this heightened influence brings challenges, but they can also create opportunities for growth, especially if one is proactive and prepared.

Whether the outcome is favorable depends on your overall fortune cycle, how well you’re prepared, and the Feng Shui influences in your living and working space.

If you belong to one of these zodiac signs, it is recommended to carry a customized Tai Sui talisman. The consecration ritual of this Tai Sui Talisman strictly follows the most thorough and classical method of the Daoist Quan Zhen lineage, with over a thousand years of spiritual tradition, and it is specifically customized to the individual who carries it. It is a great annual protection tool for one to improve the general fortune in 2026.

What is the direction/position of 2026 Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter)?

In 2026, the Year of the Horse, Tai Sui resides in the South sector (165° – 195°), associated with the House of the zodiac Horse. The ruling Tai Sui General for this year is General Wen Zhe, known for his upright and compassionate leadership.

What Is Sui Po (Year Breaker) and its 2026 Location?

Sui Po is the opposite direction of Tai Sui and is equally critical in annual Feng Shui. In 2026, Sui Po occupies the North (345° – 15°), associated with the House of the zodiac Rat. This area should remain undisturbed — no renovations, digging, or heavy activity.

When Does Tai Sui Begin to Influence?

Tai Sui’s influence begins on Li Chun (Start of Spring), which falls on February 4, 2026, and lasts until February 4, 2027. Note: This differs from the Lunar New Year (February 17, 2026).  The traditional Chinese Lunar New Year is on February 17, 2026. However, the Tai Sui will begin to influence after February 4th, which is before the Lunar New Year.

What is the best feng shui cure for the 2026 Tai Sui?

The Best Feng Shui Cure for Tai Sui in 2026

The typical practice involves placing a Tai Sui plaque or wearing symbolic charms like Pi Yao bracelets. However, these are often too general and do not produce any practical results.

2026 Tai sui locates in the south region, the House of zodiac Horse (165° – 195°), which largely overlaps with flying star # 5 (star of disaster) in this region.  Avoid activities that cause heavy vibration (banging, heavy drilling, etc.) in this area. Hang a 6-rod wind chime and display a natural Wu Lou in the south sector (157.5°- 202.5°).

This arrangement is a combination to exhaust the energy of the Five Yellow and harmonize the potential negative energy of the south sector.

Since the annual Flying Star Five Yellow overlaps with Tai Sui in 2026, its negative effects will be even more pronounced. If your kitchen, bedroom, office desk, or entryway happens to fall within this sector, it’s essential to keep this area calm and undisturbed.

In addition, I recommend displaying either the Five Thunder Protection Talisman or the Celestial Guardian Seal (Home Protection) Talisman (also known as the Home/House Protection Talisman) in this region. Both are powerful, high-level consecrated talismans specifically customized to ward off evil spirits and neutralize negative energy.

For even greater protection, either of these talismans can be paired with the Sha-Reflective Talisman to help mitigate harmful energy triggered by any accidental renovations or disturbances in annual sha sectors.

Time-wise, there are hours, days, and months of Tai Sui and Sui Po.

Monthly, Daily & Hourly Considerations

  • Month of Tai Sui: June 5 – July 6, 2026
  • Hour of Tai Sui: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Hour of Sui Po: 11 p.m. – 1 a.m.

To identify Tai Sui or Sui Po days, use the Chinese almanac. These days should be avoided for major activities. Once you identify any day of Horse and Rat, the next sixth day is considered a Tai Sui or Sui Po day and should be avoided. For example, February 4, 2026, is day of the Rooster, so the February 5 would be day of the Dog, February 6 day of the Pig, February 7 the day of the Rat, meaning February 7 is the Sui Po day, and the next 6th day February 13 is the day of the Horse, the Tai Sui day, and after another six days, February 19 is day of the Rat again, the Sui Po day, and so forth.  These days are not considered great options to start an important project in general.

The other practice (I highly recommend) to minimize the negative impact and even gain positive support from Tai Sui is to keep helping individuals, actively providing support to people in need of help, donations, etc.  This type of ongoing voluntary action often receives no reward or compensation, but it will build up one’s Yang energy and thus be able to help one regulate the overall fortune.

In traditional cultural practice, one can also pray to Tai Sui for protection and safety through performing a ritual in a temple with a Tai Sui Shrine or carrying a conservative Tai Sui talisman during the year. For those who have little knowledge of feng shui practices, this is an alternative in many regions. We will discuss the relevant topic below.

What Is the Best Cure for Sui Po (Year Breaker) in 2026?

Sui Po does not require a ritual but demands spatial awareness. The North sector (345° – 15°), which overlaps with part of the Three Killings, should remain calm.

Please note that the Sui Po region is also within the Three-killings region in 2026. The Three-killings cover the Houses of the zodiac Pig, zodiac Rat, and zodiac Ox. Thus, the Sui Po area should be kept calm and avoid any heavy activities that can cause heavy vibrations in this area.

Again, suppose your kitchen, bedroom, office table, or entry area happens to be located in this region, in addition to keeping this area calm. In that case, one can display the Five Thunder Protection Talisman or the House Protection Talisman in this region. The Five Thunder Protection Talisman can effectively prevent one from negative spirit and energy interference, while the House Protection Talisman is one of the most powerful location protection talismans to ward off evil spirits and minimize negative qi stimulated by misarranged forms and activation.

One can display a golden or white ceramic Piggy Bank and a green plant in a yellow ceramic pot in the north region of the house to minimize the negative effect of the Sui Po and Three-killing, while also activating the auspicious flying star #6.

This combo is also contributing to cleansing the potential negative element in the north region, such as appliances misplacement and balancing the fire-water conflict of the annual Three-killings.  You can read more about the Three-killings in this article: Everything You Need to Know about Three-killings

Who Should Perform Bai Tai Sui (Worship Tai Sui)?

While it is common for those offending Tai Sui to perform the ritual, anyone can participate.

Types of Rituals:
